New Teas

I'm growing into a tea lover,  I am especially addicted to smelling teas and needless to say Fall and Tea just goes together. David's Tea is a Canadian company that sells tea.. When you walk into a store they have samples of new teas, a wall of tea with literally bunches of colour coded the OCD in me is in love tea, and you can smell the teas. You just describe the kind of tea you like, or want to try and they pick it out for you.

As I am turning into a tea lover I feel very grown up about this I have picked up some new teas over the last little while and wanted to show you guys them!

Mint to Be is an organic black tea with coconut and peppermint and it smells AMAZING like coconut and mint. Shocker I know!

Read My Lips, with itty bitty chocolate chips and lip sprinkles. It tastes like chocolate, and mint, and awesomeness.

Sweet Apple Cider- Self explanatory, especially for fall. I LOVE THE SCENT OF THIS! and it tastes like warm apple cider-mmm

Mystery Tea- this one has yet to be named by the lovely people at David's Tea, I thought it smelt like hay and fall but the guy working says it is supposed to be their summer tea awkward I really don't even know how to describe this one.. just awesome, and I think like fall.

I know this was a bit of an unusual post- what kind of teas do you like for fall?

eShakti.com Dress Review

Looking for a custom dress? Something that will fit you like a glove? You have to check out eShakti.com Recently, I was contacted by the wonderful people at Eshakti.com to sample and review one of their dresses, which I have to say has really opened my eyes to online dress/clothing shopping.

Eshakti.com is a website, that offers designed pieces available for sizes 0-36W that are fully customizeable! When you go on the site, you find what you would like to purchase, and can change the hemline, sleeves, neckline, back, or even input your specific measurements to get a piece that will fit you like a glove. I am large chested, and it is often difficult for me to find a dress (or even a top) that I truly feel 100% comfortable in, and custom clothing is sliiightly out of my student lifestyle, until this website.

The price of the garments are a little pricey, dresses can be up to $100, however for a fully customized-fits-you-like-a-glove I actually feel confident in is well worth the money. The dress I received fits, and it fits well, I'm comfortable in it, and it feels well made. When you order online it is often a worry that the product will be made cheap, and I can say the hems on this dress feel stuurdy.

Overall, I am really impressed by my experience with eShakti.com, the website was easy to use, I was able to pick a neckline I am comfortable with, along with a hemline, I could change the sleeves to something that suits my constant need for a bra (without straps showing) and I could make it my exact size. I believe this is incredibly reasonable considering the price and have never come across anything like it while online shopping before.

Did I mention this dress has POCKETS!?!?
My little assistant wanted to be involved!

High End Beauty Haul

I am a notorious drugstore-holic, I have a really hard time justifying lots of money on one product. Keeping that in mind, I do like my name brands, and am somewhat of a shopaholic. So while I was out shopping with my best friend, checking out the Estee Lauder counter.. I just couldn't help myself.

Estee Lauder was having a gift with purchase deal.. where the gift was worth approximately $60-80! So spend $35 and double that as a free gift! How could I say no?

Pure Colour Eye Shadow Paint in Cobalt Blue
Pure Colour High Intensity Lip Lacquer in Peach Glass

Needless to say I am extremely excited to try these products! I've never bought anything from Estee Lauder before but have heard amazing things about the brand!

I also stopped by the Clinique counter I've never shopped there either and picked up their bottom lash mascara, which I've also heard wonderful things about!

Girls with Curls Shampoo, Conditioner and Curl Gelee Review

Girls with Curls is a recent product line launch by Dippity Do does anyone else think of the hair gel from their childhood when they hear that name? I have found this line at London Drugs, Walmart and Target for around $5 a product. The line has the curl shampoo, curl conditoner, curl gellee and curl cream. I have the shampoo/conditioner and the gellee. Overall, I am impressed with the line, I do find that it helps my curls look more defined and not as flat or shapeless and frizzy.

The Gellee is a really unique product as far as my curl care goes, it's not a gel but it's not a mouse, it's more like a whipped gel. The directions tell the user to apply the gellee to wet hair from roots to ends be warned: too much will make your roots a sticky mess apply cautiously and scrunch. I find this works best my flipping your hair over your head and applying like you would a mouse, scrunching as you go.

The combination of shampoo/conditioner/gellee really does help my curls in particular look more curly, my sister has found the shampoo/conditioner a little too drying for her hair, but on me I think it removes the rest amount of oils to really let my curls form and last.

I would rate this system:
8/10 for price, at just $5 a product, washing 2-3 times a week the bottles should last a fair amount of time, and the small amount of gellee required for my long thick hair is really doing the job, promising a long lasting use of the product.
8/10 for overall experience, I find it works and will repurchase when I run out.

What's On My Nails? Ciate Polish Haul and Review

Recently Barrie got a Sephora- which has made my days currently! I was once a makeup junkie with NO access to Sephora OR MAC so obviously my sister and I had to pop in.. we just had to right?

While I was in Vancouver I had noticed the Ciate London Nail Polish mini sets and swore I would buy one before I left.. I didn't, which meant I was required to buy it here. I tried to pick more seasonal transition shades, perfect for the summer-fall feeling right now.

How these little packages work is really quite unique, you pick 3 mini polishes, ranging in colours to nail art (they have one that has little studs in it!) and put them in the cute little box, and it's $22.50.

The pack is really easy to justify, 3 polishes, although minis are cheaper then 3 other nail polishes, and what are the likelihood that I will ever actually finish a bottle of nail polish? That's just how I justified it

My Picks: Chinchilla, Mistress & Apple and Custard

I of course had to take of my old polish and try one of the colours right away. So I picked Chinchilla!

Overall I am enjoying the colour, it's been on for a couple of days without a base/top coat and there aren't any chips. It applies really smooth, but thin, it required 2 layers to get this pigmentation, overall I am happy with the polish and can't wait to try my other ones! I can see myself buying some of their other colours.

Fall Fashion Inspiration

Recently, the weather and I have been feeling like it should feel more like fall. As I prepare my closet for fall, and the ever looming winter, bringing out my cable knit sweaters, leggings and boots I have been spending a lot of my spare time on Pinterest gathering some inspiration.

I love me some Pinterest it's a GREAT way to kill time! so below are my 5 new fall inspirations

I love the layer of the denim blouse and cable knit sweater, and the boots are fantastic! I have most of the pieces already, which is why I think I'm drawn to this inspiration

Another thing I already have the majority of the pieces too, I like the look of the rustic leather, with the military style jacket, I have one, was just never sure how to style it.. now I do!

I originally posted this for the hair, but I have to say the whole style is on point, love the slouchy sweater!

Lauren Conrad is one of my style icons, I adore everything she wears! I really like this poncho style sweater, it just looks so versatile to dress up or down, this is something on my wishlist for sure!

I love denim blouses in the fall, they just seem so laid back and casual! The entire outfit is perfection!

Well, that's it, my fall inspiration! What are some of your fall inspirations!?

Day Five: Four Back to School Outfits

In Canada, and I believe the US September 1st is a national holiday- labour day, which is quickly followed by the first day of school. Since my first week of school was only 4 days, I have decided to show you what I wore for my first week of grad school!

Currently in Ontario, it is unseasonably like summer (usually it's like fall right about now) so my outfits have ranged from more fall weather appropriate, to straight up shorts.

Tuesday:
For my orientation, I wore these Mint Green pants I got from Maurice's 1 1/2 years ago, and a recent purchase from Stitches I shop there ALL the time! I really like this chevron top! I wore my vans and curled my hair.

Wednesday:
For the official first day of school I wore my denim jeggings, not even sure where I got these from.. oops and a thinly knit top... from Stitches. I continued to keep my hair down and curly, really getting my wear out of these curls!
continuing migraine issues prevented me from actually getting a picture the day I wore this outfit... sorry!
Thursday:
It was quiet warm so I decided on my white capris and my white and black stripped top with leather shoulder pads.. all from Stitches. Even in this lighter wearing outfit it was still quite toasty. I did wear my hair down with a headband and super soft curls, but since I came home and went to bed I wasn't able to get a picture :(

Friday:
Today, it was supposed to reach the low 40's with the humidex.. aka freakin' hot so I wore my favourite warm toned hunter green shorts from my trusty store Stitches and a warm toned coral chiffon blouse.. surprise... Stitches. Since it was hot, and I was still a little sensitive from my migraine, my 3rd day hair was thrown up into a top knot.
That migraine was a killer! but I got all the outfits photographed!

Day Four: Back To School Makeup!

For yesterdays post (I suffer from migraines, and yesterdays was a killer).. I have put together my back to school/work/life look using my recently purchased Lorac Pro Palette.

I do prefer a more neutral look for day to day life, and this is no exception with school. Graduate school is very overwhelming, so something quick to look like I wasn't sick last night, or like I actually slept is the goal.
