I love.. Spring Nail Polish

Since I am recently unemployed (in between schools, moving etc.) I can finally paint my fingernails, which is something I didn't see a point in when I was working every couple days, it seemed like a waste of time, and product. Well now, I can paint my fingernails as many times as I want in a day (if that's what I choose to do). Below I have my favourite nail polishes for spring, pastels and out there colours I have been rotating on my nails!

OPI- Purple with a purpose $9.95 I love that it's a darker purple, yet still on trend for spring/summer, especially on my toes.

Chinaglaze- Spontaneous $7.95 Lighter than the last purple, but still good for the season, I love how it's not a total lilac, but not a deep purple.

Chinaglaze- Pink Voltage $7.95 BRIGHT PINK I think bright pink makes me look tanner, for some reason, so I rock the bubble gum pink in the spring/summer to not appear as ghostlike.

Chinaglaze- Fuchia Fanatic $7.95 I recently wore this in my last OOTD post Here I love this colour, it looks great on, and is a little darker than Pink Voltage.

Sinful Colours- Frenzy $1.99 I got these in the United States, at Walgreens, on one of many trips with my mom and sister while in B.C. I love the sparkles, especially as an accent nail.

Sinful Colours- Shock and Awe $1.99 Purple and Blue, it's like a perfect blend of the two, great for a more sophisticated spring nail, love this one. It looks really good with Frenzy as an accent nail.

Rimmel 60 Seconds- I Lilac You $3.99 It really does dry fast, it really is a true lilac colour.

Maybelline Colorshow- Pinkalicious $2.99 Another bright pink, love this! (Can you notice a I like pink in the summer trend that's happening?)

Wet N Wild- I Need A Refresh-Mint $3 I have this colour on my toes right now, I love as a true minty green shade, it goes well with everything too.

Orly- Gum Drop $12.50 the most expensive of my list, I love this colour, it's really similar to Wet N Wild's, I really like it.

Old Navy- Preppy Pink $2 It's not really opaque, it goes on very sheer and it is a little difficult to get off, but the colour is worth it, especially with a couple of coats on it.

These are the colours I wear most often in the Spring/Summer, what are some of your favourite spring/summer nail colours?

Spring Clothing Haul

My recent lack of busy-ness has left me with a lot of free time, free time I occasionally spend shopping. Spring has finally come to Canada, although it feels like it will only last a week or two before it is summer and too humid to breathe. The change in seasons has given me the opportunity to ditch the chunky sweaters of winter and embrace the pastels of spring. Spring (and fall) is truly the only time where I live that true fashion can shine. Summer is too hot for anything other than shorts, tank tops and top knots.. and winter, well winter requires a parka.

So shopping, yeah I've been doing that. Stitches is this great Canadian clothing store owned by a parent company who owns many other stores under their brand, they carry similar styles but never the same designs, the price remains as great and the quality amazes me. I went to an outlet store a couple days ago and picked up some spring/summer must-haves. The beauty of Canadian springs is they are typically warm enough to start wearing shorts. They were having a sale, on top of their awesome deals. I grabbed 2 tank tops (that I didn't get pictures of) for $9 total (6 for one and 3 for the other).

On top of that epic deal, I picked up 2 pairs of their shorts- a hunter green colour and a coral. Each pair were between $10-$12. Again, a steal. I think I am most excited for the coral ones, but the green are super cute too.

For some reason, they show up a lot more pink then they should- which bothers me. I LOVE the lace detailing on the bottom of the shorts, I think it adds just the right amount of detailing for a pair of shorts- and they came with the belt, which is beige and really just rounds out the shorts.

I'm really excited about these too- shorts are like required for summer, completely. I like that they aren't denim, so something different can be done with them, dressing them up is a definite option.

I love sheer tops, paired with a tank top it's dressy and casual all at the same time. I like that this one is a sleveless top, with a collar and button down makes it a little more dressy. It has navy blue and cream colouring which is still light enough for summer. This was $12, a great price I think.

Giant Tiger is another great Canadian company. It offers reasonably priced clothing as well as household needs and minor groceries- it's like a mini Walmart. I love this store- I've been shopping at it for as long as I can remember.

I got these awesome light coral-peachy coloured capris for $25! They came with a matching belt and I absolutely adore them. They are a perfect contrast compared to my love of mint and are the same tone as my mint pants. I think they are great for cooler summer nights or spring- like right now. :)

The last thing I got was this over the shoulder bag. It's has gold hardware and the chain is detachable, which is awesome for nights out if I want to make it a clutch not just an over the shoulder bag. You will not believe the price- $8. Such a deal, and considering it was originally $10, even if it wasn't on sale it would still be a steal.

That's all the shopping I've done- so far. What are some of your favourite spring/summer clothes?

My Idea of Bold Lips

I'm fair skinned, I joke my only shades are Ghost and Lobster, because of my colouring I'm always timid when it comes to being bold. I'm truly not into out there fashion statements or makeup, working on this blog and challenging myself has changed that.. gradually. Lately, at the encouragement of my best friend I have been experimenting with bolder lips. These are just the colours that I am comfortable with rocking, which is a big step for me, be warned: this post is filled with selfies

Like I said, I usually keep it pretty neutral. Recently I've been trying to embrace bolder lip colours, especially for Spring and Summer- when I hope to get a little darker, maybe. My first idea of a bold lip is the Revlon Colourburst Laquer Balm in Whimsical. I showed this in a recent post- my weekend update where I also showed some of my recent purchases. I'm really loving the colour, and the specks of glitter really draw attention to your lips, it is also really good for wear. Since I've only had it for literally 3 days, I can only say so far I like it, but it is an idea for bold lips for the pasty.

My next love is a product from my ipsy subscription- months ago, I cannot remember which one. It's this soft purpleish colour from Mirabella, it's a really smooth texture and feels really creamy on the lips. Sadly, as I went to apply it for this post- my wall got a good try of it too (I'm super clumsy and dropped it, and the wall got a good amount on it). It stained a spot on my baseboard after not even 2 minutes of it being there- a fact which I can say it has some staying power.

My third idea of a bold lip is another Revlon lip product- The Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon. This product is a limited edition one for their spring collection. The colour is wonderful, and the texture is really awesome too. I absolutely adore this one, the lip butters in general are my favourites, and this colour just makes me love them more.

When I was getting ready to leave Peterborough because I was done school, my best friend bought me a lip product. She gave it to me to challenge myself to be a little bolder as I started a new chapter- It was the Maybelline Colour Infallible Lip gloss thing. It's red. Something I stay clear of typically. Usually it's not only a lack of boldness that keeps me from trying out there lip colours- sometimes it's laziness. Red lips is drastic- and this is the most wearable option I have found. My best friend has awesome taste!

Bold lips- scary but worth it. What are some of your ideas for bold lips?

Going Away Party

Saturday was my last day at my job for Tim Horton's. I'm moving to go to a new school for a more focused career based education, compared to my bachelor's degree, which I will be done this month. Because I'm moving away obviously I had to quit my job, which is really bittersweet for me. I'm so excited to be moving onto the next chapter, but the last one was just so amazing I don't want it to end.

So in honour of my last day, a bunch of the craziest most amazing loving people I know went out for dinner and a very reserved night on the town (this was not the case at all). Since we are all over the age of 19 (in Canada that's the legal age) we went out and did a little bit of a bar hop, we only went to two so more like a skip. These people are a mixture of older friends from working at Timmies for the last two and a half years, and some are people that just started and quickly made their way into our little clique.

It was wonderful having these people who I care so much about go out with me for a great night, there was no drama, just a bunch of laughs and memory making. For me especially it was so important to go out with them, because with school winding down I need to focus on exams and some final papers, so it was the last chance I have and also because we used to go out all the time together (summer is more of our time, winter everyone wants to stay inside!)

So here are a bunch of selfies from the night, taken in some horrible lighting. But either way, these people rock and I love them all so so so much.
This is my bestie, surprisingly we have been friends for 2 years and this is our first photo together.

For some reason I love pictures of selfies being taken!

This was our saturday night, It was a total blast and I'm so happy these people are in my life.

Minty Green

If anyone knows me at all they know I love anything mint. Chocolate, candies, lipgloss, the colour I LOVE IT ALL! So when I was shopping last week and I stumbled across this lovely mint green blazer there wasn't a question I was buying it.

Since Spring isn't completely making it's presence known yet in Ontario where I live, my wardrobe is in the uncertain state, torn between winter and spring. Today, it was a little warmer than it has been, so I pulled out my mint blazer to wear to my office job. I paired it with grey leggings and black booties (which are now covered in mud :(,) I added this gold necklace with a cross on it to tie it together, and I love the look.

For my makeup I broke out the Inglot Freedom System my mom and sister got me when they were in New York City last summer. I had never really found the perfect time to use the colours because to me they scream spring and summer, and I didn't actually get it until August. So this morning I thought perfect, a great time to bust it out and have some fun.

I wanted to keep it simple, because of the look I was going for, so I used my maybelline Colour Tattoo in Barely Branded as a base and then used the light shade all over my lid with my sigma E55 brush. I took the orangey sunset kind of shade in my crease and I used the E.L.F Essential Blending Eye Brush (I cannot believe it was only a dollar!) and then this micabeauty blending brush to soften out any harsh lines. I got the brush in my ipsy bag two months ago. I then took the minty green colour and used it under my eyes, taking the sigma E65 brush and gradually went along the colours the further away from my inner corner.

On my lips I'm wearing MAC's Viva Glam V. For me it's almost this perfect "you're lips but better" colour and for some reason I am obsessed with the scent of it.

What colour makes you scream spring?
